Dr. Marcel Meyer
PostDoc
Interdisciplinary researcher with focus on botanical epidemiology. My core interests evolve around understanding and predicting atmospheric transmission of crop pathogens and pests. I use computational simulations, modelling, and machine learning techniques to investigate crop disease patterns on national, regional and global scales. My research has also involved advanced 3-dimensional visual data analysis in climate sciences, meteorological extreme events, biophysics, and international development. Apart from academic research, I have worked as data analyst and consultant for multilateral organizations and private industry and bring an interest in translating insights from computational modelling and data analysis to practical applications for sustainable international development.
