Adaptation of the crop model LINTUL to simulate growth and development of sugar beet
Master Thesis

Crop science
Motivation / State of the art / Relevance
Sugar beet is one of the major crops in Central Europe. Few specialized crop models have been developed in order to simulate growth, development and sugar content of this crop. With the objective of putting the simulation of sugar beet into a larger context, the crop model LINTUL within the framework SIMPLACE is adapted and parameterised. This involves the goal of simulating growth and development of sugar beet for a large variety of environmental as well as management conditions while guaranteeing quality and comparability at the established level of simulations for other crops, for instance in an ensemble study or crop rotation.
Objectives
Adaptation of the crop model LINTUL to simulate growth and development of sugar beet
